Forklift Truck Operation
Forklift Trucks fall into many different types and categories. It is a legal requirement that operators are trained on the category of truck(s) which they operate. We offer training for the following types of truck:
B1 - Industrial Counterbalance Truck up to 5 Tonnes Lifting Capacity
B2 - Industrial Counterbalance Truck from 5 Tonnes up to 15 Tonnes Lifting Capacity
B3 - Industrial Counterbalance Truck over 15 Tonnes Lifting Capacity
A5 – Powered Pedestrian Pallet Stacker
D1 – Reach Truck
P1 – Pivot Steer Truck (Bendi)
J2 – Rough Terrain Pivot Steer Truck (Telescopic)
Course Categories

Training is provided for the following categories:
Forklift Truck Operator – Novice
Forklift Truck Operator – Experienced but no previous formal training
Forklift Truck Operator – Conversion (e.g. from B1 up to B2)
Forklift Truck Refresher
Course duration varies with number of candidates and candidate’s previous experience.

Overhead/Gantry Crane (Incorporating Banksman/Slinger)
To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge necessary for the safe operation of overhead travelling gantry cranes. Comprising both theoretical and practical instruction the following criteria are covered:

Manual Handling
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to undertake manual handling activities safely. Containing a balanced mix of theoretical and practical instruction the course content focuses on:

How and why manual handling accidents occur

Relevant UK legislation

Basic risk assessments

Methods which reduce the likelihood of injury

Demonstration and practice of safe handling methods and techniques
Course Duration – ½ Day

Abrasive Wheels
These courses are delivered in one of two main categories:

Workshop equipment (bench mounted, pedestal and hand-held angle grinders)
-
Cut-off- Saws, commonly referred to as Stihl Saws.
Theoretical and practical instruction is provided on the safe mounting and use of abrasive wheels. Course topics include:

UK Legislation

Hazards associated with the use of abrasive wheels

Interpretation of markings

Safe storage and handling of wheels

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

Practical Instruction / Delegate Participation

Correct use of grinding/cutting equipment

Working at Height
Raise awareness of the necessary regulations pertaining to working at height. Ensure personnel are aware of their responsibilities and obligations under the Working at Height Regulations (April 2005). Focus is on fall arrest and ladders.
